Honda does offer a high-perfomance kit for the newer quads. Especially the 450R, i am not sure if they offered them for the 2003 quads. A cheap easy way to get the quad to get up and go quicker is to put a bigger chain sproket on the front and a smaller on on the back. These greatly increase the quickness of the quad. It also has nothing to do with the engine or transmission. Exhaust and jets are a simple and easy upgrade but can be expensive and may even change suggested fuel octane. I myself work at Heriatge Honda in Maysville, Kentucky. The 450R is a great bike, and is plenty quick, but if I was wanting some big performance trade that 400 in on the new 700XX!! One of the badest quads in existence. Pops a wheelie in 5 th gear from a stand still.
