hi, im new to this forum and even newer to imports. i have a regular(no mods done) 1994 civic ex which will not fire. ive replaced the cap and rotor but still get no spark. ive stuck a wire in the plugwire(from the cap) and stuck it on the frame to try and see if the distrubutor is throwing spark but got nothing. the distributor does turn when cranking also. when it died i was in the middle of driving down the street and it just shut off. the power streeing still worked briefly, and NO warning lights came on. i didnt hear or feel anything(no pops, jerking or vibrations), its as though the car just shut off. it cranks but doesnt attempt to turn over. ive read a lot of posts with similar problems here being solved with a new ignition coil. does this sound like the same issue here? any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. i thought timing belt, but it looks fine and i would think id still get spark from the distributor.

thanks for the info. even if the timing belt jumped, wouldn''t i still get spark to the wires if i''m cranking the car and the rotor is turning? i have no spark out of any plug wires.
