My 2001 CRV just started making a grinding metal on metal noise when it comes to a stop and not everytime. Already changed the brakes so that isn't it. Any ideas?

welcome to the forum pwink: will try to help out, your brake pucks may have some brake dust on it, ( looking at the hub cap may tell you how much is coming out ) it may also have some metal scraped off from the rotor if that was changed. On a day that you have not used the pilot, you can take a garden hose with a pressure gun and shoot water inbetween the hub cap and rim holes and shoot some of the dust out, also from infront of the car looking at the insides of the rims, shoot water at the caliper area, this gets most of the dust out. The first brake application after the clean off will give a mild scrapping sound then the squeel should subside. Besure the rotors are not hot or you will warp them.
